Rebel Witch (Book two in the Crimson Moth series)

Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli

Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli

Published Febuary 18, 2025

Read Febuary 25-26, 2025

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

Before I started reading, I flipped through the last one and somehow, this one was better! It was suspenseful and just amazing!
I love Gideon and Rune so much! The only thing was there was a little miscommunication I didn’t love. But otherwise their chemistry was perfection!
I loved how Ciccarelli left so much to the imagination at the end between the wat and the new world.
Such a fantastic book, would highly recommend!

Lightlark (Book one in the Lightlark series)

Lightlark by Alex Aster

Lightlark by Alex Aster

Published August 23, 2022

Read Febuary 21-24, 2025

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book was a bit of a stretch for me to even add it to the TBR because it didn’t catch my eye well but the plot had so much potential. The potential that Aster wasted! She drops you in part way through the story and her attempts to reveal things slowly fail. It is messy and confusing, almost impossible to follow.

Not only that but it is incredibly rushed! There is no buildup in character relationships and everything is so predictable! It makes it incredibly slow and boring.

But, it does have the potential to be a good book so while I won’t be finishing it, I will be generous with my rating because it could bloom into something better.

Alice Through the Looking Glass (Book two in Alice in Wonderland

Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll

Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll

Published January 1, 1871

Read January 17-18, 2025

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

I absolutely think that this book was better than the first. There was a bit more of a storyline to follow. But I also think it still has that Wonderland logic with everything being a little topsy-turvy. I really enjoyed rereading a book I haven’t read in so long. This book and idea of Wonderland is timeless and is a wonderful book.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (Book one in Alice in Wonderland)

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Published January 1, 1865

Read February 17-18, 2025

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

I haven’t read this book in probably about 12 years. But the second I picked it up it all came rushing back. This book helped to define my childhood (as well as the next book) and it was so exciting to go back down this memory lane.
For so long I thought this book was nonsensical, and maybe I’ve just gone a little mad in 12 years, but it made so much more sense this time.
This book is a foundation to so many whimsical and fantasy books in the modern era and Carol does not disappoint.
I only have one complaint for the book and I thought Alice was a little too weepy in the first few chapters. But what a wonderful book and trip down memory lane.
